My name is Mary Grace Corrao and I am a recent architecture graduate from the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design at the University of Arkansas. I am planning on pursuing a master's degree in either Urban Design, Journalism, or Industrial Design. (I love learning so much I might try to get all three!) My biggest concern and goal when it comes to urban design, landscape design and architectural design is the environment and sustainability. I strive to keep the environment and human empathy in the forefront of all my design decisions. With all this in mind, I have not limited myself to any particular concentration. I love historic preservation, urban and regional planning, landscape architecture, public housing, new technologies (such as the architectural potential of VR, engineered lumber, 3D printed construction) and the list keeps going! I also enjoy writing and reading architectural reviews and critiques and I hope to one day write about architecture myself. I strive to have a career that has no limit to where I travel and what I design.
When I'm not working hard at my studio desk you can find me outdoors, rock climbing, mountain biking, kayaking, snowboarding and anything else that would make my grandmother stay awake at night. I love the beach, travel, and anything to do with the ocean. You will never find me without a camera in one hand and a book in the other (I am currently reading through the 199 books of the Barnes and Noble Classics Collection). I was born in Charleston, SC and have lived in Georgia, Texas, Arkansas, and now Colorado. Growing up in the south has instilled in me a sense of respect for my elders, a love for Chick-fil-a french fries, and a wariness of Alabama football. Living in Colorado has me wearing earth tones and wondering how I've survived 100% humidity my whole life. Charleston, SC and many other historic southern cities first inspired my love for architecture and the outdoors and one day I hope my designs and writing inspire others in those very same cities.
